This Maggie, played rumbustiously by Leah MacRae, was resplendent in tartan hot pants and leopardskin leggings, and sprawled much of the time on a huge circular bed with black satin sheets, Paris Hilton pillows and a lurid fuchsia coverlet.

Especially the dole office, where she met Mr Big, a cross between Simon Cowell and Peter André, and was transported to his Private Room of Pain.
