BHP – which describes itself as “Yorkshire and North Derbyshire’s leading accountancy business” – has announced plans to open a new office in the Chesterfield Waterside development, one of the UK’s largest regeneration schemes.
It says the move from Saltergate to One Waterside Place, a seven-storey office building currently under construction at the Waterside scheme, will allow it to expand its team.

The building is now being made watertight and will undergo an internal fit-out before businesses move in later this year, with BHP set to take an entire floor of about 5,500 sq feet.
Lisa Leighton, BHP joint managing partner, said: ““Despite the wider economic uncertainty of the past year, our team has continued to grow, and Chesterfield has always been an important location for us.
“Waterside is a fantastic regeneration project and offers us a really exciting opportunity to provide first-class office facilities for our team and also get behind transformational investment in the area.

Exciting time
Ms Leighton said: “It is a hugely exciting time for our Chesterfield team.”
The £340 million Chesterfield Waterfield scheme – described as the “most ambitious project the town has ever seen” – will see the former Arnold Laver and Trebor factory sites off Brimington Road redeveloped into housing, offices, shops, bars, a hotel, multi-storey car park, apartments and canal basin marina.
Peter Swallow, managing director of Bolsterstone Group, which is leading the Chesterfield Waterside development, said: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming BHP to One Waterside Place on completion of the building later this year.
