The branch, which folded last May because of dwindling membership, has recently been reformed with a new committee selected last month.
And after the former branch headquarters on Hardwick Square were closed in April 2012, the branch is close to securing a deal for new town centre premises, which as well as being the location for co-ordinating the town’s poppy appeal from, will also be open for members to drop-in for a coffee, chat or advice on a wide range of issues.

Hide AdThe branch is also planning to hold social events once a month, and use their new site in the town centre as a hub to raise the branch’s profile in the town.
You are not required to have served in the forces to be a member of the Royal British Legion.
