Badger shot and killed at Derbyshire cricket club
The animal was found injured but alive at Ashover Cricket Club, Milken Lane, at around 7.50am on September 23.
The person who found it contacted Mid-Derbyshire Badger Watch, who then called one of Derbyshire police’s wildlife crime officers.

Hide AdPCSO Mike Coates went to the club along with a representative from the watch group.
But by the time they arrived at about 10am, the badger had been shot and killed, and the carcass thrown into bushes at the back of the club.
It is an offence under the Protection of Badgers Act 1992 to kill, injure or take a badger.
Officers want to hear from anyone who might have information relating to the shooting of the badger.
