Cash boost for groups
On Tuesday, the authority’s Cabinet agreed more than 200 grants for organisations across the county.
High Peak groups set to benefit include Peaks and Dales Advocacy (£39,903), Volunteer Centre Glossop (£41,111) and Voluntary and Community Services Peaks and Dales (£13,230).

Hide AdThe money will be used for projects from escorted shopping services to recruiting, training, placing and supporting volunteers to help with lunch clubs, transport services and volunteer car schemes.
Cllr Clare Neill, cabinet member for adult social care, said: “This is the last year that we will be able to invest this much money in the voluntary sector.
“Because of the government cuts, the Health and Wellbeing Board is conducting a review of investments in the voluntary sector.
“We have invited the voluntary sector onto the board and we will be working with them on the review over the next few months.”
