Chief Constable Mick Creedon said: “It’s excellent that after years of cuts and austerity and a reduction of 700 officers and staff that our external inspectors have rated us in this way.
“We were rated as one of only two forces to be ‘outstanding’ in the HMIC legitimacy report in December and this reflects brilliantly on all our staff and officers. We value the HMIC’s objective scrutiny of the force.
“We are very cCounlear on our commitment to try and provide an excellent policing service to everyone in Derbyshire. We know how complex the demands have become on us with a range of new challenges like modern slavery and child sexual exploitation but as we continually change what we do, serving and protecting the public is at the heart of everything.”
