‘Numerous’ reports of north Derbyshire pubs flouting lockdown rules

Officers insist they are continuing to ‘monitor reports’ and taking action against pubs found to be flouting the rules.
Sergeant Mat Winterbottom, of Derbyshire Constabulary’s north division licencing team, said: “During the past 14 weeks our licencing team has responded to numerous reports alerting us to the fact that some pubs have still opened their doors to serve customers despite restrictions.

Hide Ad“Where we have had reports of this nature our officers have investigated and warned premises that they may be handed prohibition notices and potentially unlimited fines.
“They may also face the loss of their alcohol license.
“Our officers continue to work alongside our trading standards, Environmental Health and local authority colleagues to monitor reports and to try and limit the spread of coronavirus.”
Pubs in England can reopen on July 4, Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed on Tuesday.
