Police give thanks to parents for quick action over illegal parking near Derbyshire school

Police have thanked parents for swift action in moving their cars which were parked illegally near a primary school in north Derbyshire.

Officers from Clay Cross Safer Neighbourhood Team were alerted to the illegally parked cars on Rupert Street, Lower Pilsey, this afternoon (Friday, June 17).

It is believed they belonged to parents of children at nearby Park House Primary School who were reportedly parked along the road to attend a sports day.

Posting on Facebook, Clay Cross SNT revealed that all the parents were quick to move their vehicles upon being talked to and received thanks from officers for their actions.

A spokesperson for the team said: "SNT have been called out to cars parked illegally at Lower Pilsley.

"We all don’t want to miss our children’s sports days however we also do NOT want points, fines or to have our vehicles towed away.

“Thanks to all the drivers who engaged quickly and resolved this issue.”
