Derbyshire police issue warning after ‘high powered’ firework theft

Police have issued a warning after a large quantity of ‘high category’ fireworks were stolen from a van in Long Eaton.

On Saturday, October 31, between 4.30pm and 5.20pm, a van belonging to Big Bang Fireworks, parked on Oakleys Road, was broken into.

PC James Crookall, from Long Eaton Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “If these fireworks are used incorrectly they are extremely dangerous.

“If stored incorrectly they have the potential to explode.”
