Derbyshire Police remind homeowners to secure windows and doors during hot weather
Detective Inspector Dave Neate said: “It is understandable that in this weather people like to have their doors and windows open.
“However, this does give opportunities for burglars to sneak in and remove items. We would just like to remind people of this possibility and ask them to take some simple precautions to reduce this risk.”
Some steps that you can take:
Lock doors and windows every time you leave the house
