MATLOCK: Witness appeal after assault

Detectives are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Matlock.

At around 2am on Sunday, October 13, a 21-year-old man was inside Harvey’s Bar, in Dale Road, when he saw a fight break out between one of his friends and a group of men.

He tried to intervene but was struck with a glass to the side of his face. He suffered several cuts across his face which required gluing and stitching.

Two Belper men, aged 19 and 22, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent, questioned and released on bail while inquiries continue.
