Matlock’s Smedley Street traders host 1950s event
The Smedley Street Business Group are back with another 1950s themed late night shopping event this Friday.
Between 6pm and 8.30pm there will be food and drink tastings, as well as special offers and discounts to tempt shoppers.

Hide AdMembers of the public are encouraged to get their rockabilly glad rags on to enjoy the evening, which will be topped off by two live performances from The Mockabillies at Designate@The Gate at 7.30pm and 9pm.
The last 1950s weekend was a success, with plenty of Matlock residents turning up in their finest to see what was on offer.
The participating businesses are Zepnat Cycles, Chiho Kincaid Acupuncture, Tinkers, Bella Figura, Stanley’s Alehouse, The Nail Hut, Armitts, Verve, Caron Jones Yoga and Sports Therapy, Mckenzie’s Garage, Joskowski Photography and Designate@The Gate
Teresa Whittaker, of Bella Figura, said: “The last 1950s event was so popular and we had a lot of people who were sorry they had missed it, so we thought we’d do it again.

Hide Ad“This time we’ve got a couple of new business this time as well – Stanley’s Ale House and Caron Jones, who is promoting her yoga sessions.
“People are offering free drinks and special offers up and down the street.”
People who attend on the night will be in with a chance of winning prizes by collecting signatures from each of the participating businesses on a card, which will them be entered into a draw.
