Parents at Chesterfield primary school hail success of new forum
The forum was launched by parents at Holme Hall Primary School, Taddington Road, six weeks ago and they are now encouraging other schools to do the same.
Joanna Jennings, whose children Dylan, aged six, and Keanu, aged five, attend the school, said: “The forum was set up because sometimes we don’t always get the information because children forget to bring home letters.
“It is about getting everyone on the same page.
“It is going really well and the parents like it.”

Hide AdSix parent representatives, one from each class, all meet with headteacher Paul Husken every month to discuss issues and ideas.
The forum also includes a Facebook page, a section on the school’s website and notice boards.
Joanna, who is also a governor at the school, explained: “The best thing is that it is making the school more of a community.”
Headteacher, Mr Husken, said: “The parents’ forum is a great success. For a while I have been concerned about communications between school and parents. We send out information in letters, website, school app and Twitter but these are all largely one way communications.
“I am really impressed with the way the forum is developing. I enjoy working with the group and look forward to seeing it continue to develop.”
