Chesterfield is a such great place but, of course, there are always way to improve.
And it seems like many people are in agreement when it comes to things they would change about the town – from lower parking fees to an improved shopping experience with a wider variety of stores and brands.
Here’s a list of just some of the ideas Derbyshire Times readers have to make Chesterfield an even better place to work and live:
1. Video arcade in former BHS store on Vicar Lane
Michelle Hawkins said: "I would like to see the old BHS building be somewhere fun for teens. With arcades and video games, cafe, perhaps something else fun upstairs like crazy golf. Something for kids to do that they can go to early evening and be a safe and fun place to hang out." Photo: JPIMedia
2. Lower rents on Chesterfield market
Lindsay Patterson said: "Lower the rents on the market or find a way to attract stall holders back to the market so it became a bustling market town again." Photo: Anne Shelley
3. A wider variety of shops
Jane Flanagan said: "Times change along with which shops are popular… younger generation don’t want bakers/butchers/expensive jewellers/20 coffee shops! Cater for all and try bringing some shops in that are popular with the younger generation, Lush, Flannels, Victoria Secret, Cadbury shop etc." Photo: George Torr

Jo Morris Umney said: "Parking is far too expensive for what there is in town. Similar places charge far less." Samantha Morgan echoed a similar message adding: "One hours fee parking would be a good start." Photo: Submitted
