Coronavirus: 18 deaths at Chesterfield Royal Hospital as Boris Johnson spends night in intensive care

Yesterday, Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust confirmed it was caring for 75 patients with confirmed cases of Covid-19, 16 of whom are receiving care in a high-dependency or critical care setting.
Latest Government figures show there are now a total of 757 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Derbyshire – 494 in Derbyshire county and 263 in Derby city.

Hide AdMeanwhile, the Prime Minister – who was admitted to St Thomas’ Hospital in London on Sunday night – was moved to intensive care early last night after being given oxygen earlier in the day.
A statement said that Mr Johnson was still conscious but had been moved to intensive care to be nearer to a ventilator if it was needed.
