'Lucky no one was killed' after 'speeding' BMW crashes in north Derbyshire town centre
A BMW car was badly damaged and roadside railings were destroyed when the driver ‘lost control’ close to the Morrison’s roundabout on the A619.
Derbyshire police said the driver claimed to have hit a manhole cover after the incident on Saturday night at about 11pm – but residents say cars regularly speed along the road.

“Where this happened is more or less on the Morrison’s and market roundabout heading towards Chesterfield, where the road curves.
“It is clear by the damage the car was going at some speed.
“It looks like yet another case of new or young driver thinking they can handle a car like a pro.
