SCHOOL: Sixth form team heading for national finals
They now have the opportunity of attending the National finals in London early next year, where they will compete against other top UK schools.
The team consisted of two Year 13 students( Jacob Howard-Parker and Emily Ball) and two Year 12’s ( Julia Smith-Vidal and Harriet Milner).

Hide AdThe competition involved three very challenging rounds including group questions, cross number and a mini relay.
The team are ecstatic and Headteacher, David Baker - himself a Maths specialist- said: “I am very proud of our students. This is a wonderful achievement and I wish them every success in the national final next year.”
The Senior Team Maths Challenge (STMC) is jointly organised by the UKMT and the Further Maths Support Programme.
The STMC is a competition testing mathematical, communication and teamwork skills, and students compete against teams from other schools and colleges from their region.

Hide AdEach school or college is invited to enter a team of four pupils for a regional final, chosen from school years 11, 12 and 13 in England and Wales.
Qualifying teams from the Regional Finals are then invited to compete at a one-day National Final held in London. All participants receive a certificate and goody bag. The winners will be presented with prizes and the national
trophy.
