There is heavy traffic on the motorway on all southbound lanes as a result.
A spokesperson for Derbyshire Police said that the recovery operation was expected to take ‘a long time’ due to the size of the lorry, and that the lane would be closed for the duration.
Drivers are advised to avoid the area while it is ongoing.
