The 25-year-old suffered a serious knee injury in the match against Yeovil Town last December and then had another setback in his recovery earlier this year.

“Once he starts to step his work up then we will see how his injury is recovering.
“Hopefully there are no knock-backs on it.
“We are told he is making good progress.
“It has been a really difficult time for him.
“What we are trying to do is keep him around.
“When you have got an injury like that and you have been out a long time you tend to do a lot of the work on your own, but I like to get him up to the training ground as much as we can and try and get him to do some work in and around the lads.”
Pemberton added: “I don’t think he particularly enjoys watching the games when he is not playing, that is a difficult one fo him, but some people are like that and I am okay with that. I think that is quite a normal scenario for people to be in.
“He is quite positive. I think the set-back he had towards the end of last season knocked him a little bit but he has got his head round it and he is now on the mend.”
