Matlock Town boss gives his take on departure of Chib Chilaka
The 34 years old Nigerian striker who scored five times in Matlock’s 7-1 Derbyshire Senior Cup victory at Borrowash Victoria last November, had been with Matlock for a little over a year and was firmly in Phillips’ plans during the summer.
“He was one of the main lads that I wanted to keep for he did tremendously well when he played last season,” Phillips explained.

"He’s a terrific lad and I’m sure he’ll do very well with Belper. He leaves with all of our best wishes.”
Chilaka had spent time at East Midlands League Clipstone, managed by former Matlock boss Dave Hoole, in a bid to attain full match fitness.
