Raceline: Tip of the Day - 26th September 2012
Yesterday’s tip got stuck in the Beverley mud amid torrential rain. Let’s hope for better luck today:
Wednesday September 26
VALIANT GIRL
Kempton 6.20 WIN
Trainer Roger Charlton might have pulled off a masterstroke by switching his lightly-raced filly to the all-weather, given that her full brother, Bronze Cannon, was so successful on such surfaces, including here at Kempton, while her sire, Lemon Drop Kid, was a star on US dirt tracks. It’s certainly time the three-year-old won again, having started the campaign as one of the yard’s brightest prospects after showing promise last backend in a maiden taken by subsequent St Leger hero, Encke. She opened up with an impressive victory but was then disappointing at Glorious Goodwood. With a clear run, she would surely have prevailed last time and she can make amends here, although I do suspect that, eventually, she’ll be best suited by a bit further than this 10f trip.
